THE CONTEXT

Telling the story behind the waste.

Every day, Freetown generates hundreds of tonnes of waste, yet much of it never reaches formal collection systems. Behind this challenge are communities, waste collectors and innovators working to build a cleaner, healthier city.

LightBulb was commissioned to produce a documentary that captures both the realities of waste management and the vision driving Freetown Waste Transformers. Through cinematic storytelling, the film explores how digital innovation, community partnerships and sustainable waste solutions are helping reshape the city’s future.

OUR APPROACH

Documentary storytelling with purpose.

Rather than creating a traditional corporate video, we developed a documentary designed to immerse viewers in the lived experience of waste management in Freetown.

By combining cinematic visuals, aerial cinematography, observational filming and authentic interviews, we produced a story that educates, inspires and encourages dialogue around sustainability and climate resilience.
